High Power Fiber Lasers for Industrial Applications
High power fiber lasers are created from active optical fibers and semiconductor diodes, a merger between two of the most innovative and advanced laser technologies. Fiber lasers use single emitter semiconductor diodes as the light source to pump the active fibers. The laser beam emitted is contained within optical fibers and delivered through an armored flexible cable. Active fibers, special optical fibers doped with rare earth ions, allow for an extremely bright light from a very small core, thus making possible the production of kilowatt class output with excellent beam quality. IPG uses many proprietary technologies to create the undisputed best beam quality kilowatt class lasers available in the market today.
The combination of technologies results in a unique, highly reliable and superior performing laser system with parameters exceeding any traditional laser technology. Our robust fiber lasers share common attributes of compact size, long diode life, low maintenance operation, high wall plug efficiency and completely consistent beam divergence and beam profile at all power levels.

Quasi CW Fiber Laser
The last replacement part you'll ever need for your YAG laser.
IPG’s four new quasi continuous wave (QCW) fiber laser models feature peak pulse powers of 750 watts, 1,500 watts, 4,000 watts and 6,000 watts and energies from 7.5, 15, 40, 60 joules per pulse, respectively. These air-cooled, compact units are substantially more cost-effective than conventional YAG lasers because of wall plug efficiencies greater than 30% and maintenance-free operation, in that there are no components that require replacement during ordinary operation over its useful life.
The YLR-X/Y-QCW-AC lasers offer outstanding pulse power and energy stability over the complete laser power dynamic range. IPG’s new QCW fiber lasers also have exceptional beam quality with various options for the output fiber size available and BPP as low as 0.35 mm x mrad (single-mode version) up to 2 mm x mrad. Convenient plug and play design and fiber delivery system continues to be standard as on all IPG fiber lasers.
The new laser is ideal for spot welding, seam welding and drilling in the long pulse operation mode. The CW mode of operation with power up to 500 watts allows fast cutting and makes these lasers a universal tool for many other applications. The QCW fiber lasers are available for requalifying in existing lamp pumped processes at IPG’s application facilities and applications labs. Retrofit services, including engineers familiar with system integration, are available to help customers replace older production lasers with energy-efficient fiber lasers from IPG.
